One of the important things to do when hiring new drivers is running MVR’s on all your drivers at the time of hire. These reports need to be run annually and should be kept in their driver’s file. They are also used when it comes time for insurance renewal. If you’re not sure what is acceptable MVR, contact us, and we will talk the underwriters who insure you on what their guidelines are. Every carrier is different in what they look for and it also depends on what type of operation you run. If you need a good website for background checks & MVR’s, check out hireright.com.

It is a good idea to create a safety manual, and put guidelines in place when looking to hire new drivers.
